She is committed to exploring the application of machine learning models mounted on drones for actual forest fire detection and development trend analysis. Her research focuses on machine learning and UAV technology and application.

The research expertise of Dr. Das lies in scalable and efficient analysis of scientific big data, encompassing the development of large-scale software frameworks and innovative hardware architectures. Currently, Dr. Das is developing an online platform and curricula to disseminate quality education in big data analysis, AI, HPC, and related technologies. Since joining UAF in 2022, he has been dedicated to addressing Alaska's unique challenges in climate, natural hazards, health, and environment through cutting-edge technologies. His research and academic initiatives are also funded by multiple federal agencies, including NSF, NIH, NASA, and USGS.
